Observership Program

The Nezhat Medical Center Observership is a multidisciplinary observational and educational program for surgeons to gain knowledge and experience as well as management of complex and unique gynecological cases. An Observership term may vary from a few days or weeks and up to one year.

The Observership Program is considered an observational and clinical research fellowship in which you will observe Dr. Ceana Nezhat and other affiliated surgeons in the operating room and clinical practice. These cases include complex gynecology, oncology, urology and colorectal surgeries. Please note, in order to assist operatively, you are by state law required to obtain a Georgia medical license as well as liability coverage and hospital privileges. This process can take 3-6 months to complete and is not applicable to this fellowship, as we are unable to provide a J1 visa.

Research studies and journal publications will be an additional focus and objective. This will provide the physician with international recognition provided the submitted studies are published. Also, you will be afforded the opportunity to attend the “hands on simulation laboratory” directed by Dr. Nezhat for conventional laparoscopy, robotic and hysteroscopy surgeries. Conferences and grand round meetings are also available to the applicant during the training.

A fee may apply to participating physicians. Please inform our Center your specific area(s) of interest, so we can arrange appropriate and customized rotations. Applicants include Senior Residents and Fellows for elective rotation, as well as, practicing physicians who desire additional post graduate training.

Interested applicants need to include the following documents for review:

  1. A letter of intent and specific area(s) of interest
  2. A copy of your CV
  3. A letter of recommendation from your Program Chair, if applicable

Please send all documentation via email to education@nezhat.com. If you have further questions, please contact our Fellowhip Coordinator at (888) 659-2311 or (404) 255-8778, Atlanta, Georgia.

Thank you and we look forward to your visit.
